Milly la Forêt is situated 50kms south of Paris, historic capital of Simples (medicinal herbs) in the heart of the French Gâtinais, Jean Cocteau made his home here and is buried in the Chapelle St Blaise des Simples,

the market takes place every Thursday afternoon, since the 15th century in the very impressive late medieval market hall.

You will discover historic and original places with pedestrian paths (1h30) with or without a guide.

Milly la Forêt, near from the Fontainebleau forest, Barbizon (famous painters' village) is an unavoidable step of the south of Essonne.
